Due to Hurricane Matthew, there will be only one performance of Mozart’s Requiem by the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus on Oct. 15.
Friday night ticket holders will be admitted to Saturday’s performance; or they are welcome to attend the dress rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the Lucas Theatre.
Mitchell Krieger, Executive Director of the Savannah Philharmonic, said “We’re thrilled to be able to bring the Savannah community together at this challenging time to share the uplifting music of Mozart. We especially want to thank SCAD and the staff of the Lucas Theatre, who have gone out of their way to make sure that the Lucas will be safe for our audience and performers following Hurricane Matthew.”
The Philharmonic brings Mozart’s last and most powerful work to life at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts, 32 Abercorn St. The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus of over 100 voices is joined by soloists Tina Zenker-Williams, Claire Watts, Stephen Dobson, and Allen Henderson. The program includes Mozart’s passionate Symphony No. 40 in G minor.
