When the Tony Monaco and the Howard Paul Trio take the Tybee Post Theater stage, audiences can expect a spontaneous alchemy similar to their album “New Adventures”. The Album is a tribute to Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery’s classic album “Further Adventures”. Monaco and Paul share a musical vocabulary and didn’t have a prepared set list when they entered the studio. Amazingly, the entire album was recorded in 6 hours.
“When you do B-3 stuff, it’s all one gigantic palette of tunes that fit with the B-3 and guitar,” explains Paul. “Somebody once described the B-3 and guitar as ‘peanut butter and jelly’. Inseparable.”
