It’s a boot stomp on a dusty bar floor. It’s the clang of a whiskey bottle at last call. It's grit. It's the sounds of the South. It's Cranford Hollow, a blended mix of Southern rock, Appalachian fiddle music and American rock and roll.
The Hilton Head Island quartet, comprised of vocalist and guitarist John Cranford, bass man Phillip Sirmans, drummer Randy Rockalotta, and fiddler and vocalist Eric Reid, have won over thousands of loyal fans with what they call Lowcountry Stomp, a sound that is at once eclectic but uniquely their own. Since 2011 Cranford Hollow has been playing upwards of 200 shows a year, steadily expanding from the South Carolina Lowcountry to places as far afield as Eau Claire, WI., Livingston, MT, and Taos, NM
St. Telluride, Cranford Hollow’s fourth studio album, was released last fall and features 10 new original tracks. Cranford Hollow is currently touring the South and after their stop on Tybee Island, they will head West to Colorado through Mississippi and Arkansas.
The night starts off with a set from a hot young Savannah band, Painter & Poet, which started off as a dynamic husband and wife duo strongly influenced from southern rock and Texas blues. William and Anna Cusak were both born and raised in Texas, but they met in Savannah and formed their duo with William on guitar and vocals, Anna on sax and vocals. They’ve now added a couple of new band members to fill out the sound with bass and drums.
