It was only a matter of time before the wildly popular Little Tybee played the Post. The timing’s perfect. The progressive folk-rock band, now based out of Atlanta, is launching a national tour this month, playing with the Buffalo , NY, based Reign of Kindo on the double bill.
Since their beginnings in 2008, Little Tybee (yes, named after the island on the other side of the Back River for those living under a rock) has released four full-length albums and conducted several regional and national tours. Stylistically, the band fuses together elements from folk, psychedelic rock, indie music, jazz, and other diverse influences. Fronted by vocalist/guitarist/pianist and primary songwriter, and SCAD grad, Brock Scott, this indie band has grown since its humble beginnings here on the Coast and its first album aptly named “Building a Bomb.”
Reign of Kindo now has three albums in its discography and calls New York City their home base. Their latest, “Play With Fire, rocks a sound that’s refreshing, unique, and universally personable. They label their sound Piano-driven Rock-Pop with Progressive tendencies.
