The Classic Rock and R&B band from Statesboro, The Dukes perform all over Southeast Georgia delighting packed audiences with a unique mix of classic songs from Al Green, Steely Dan, The Eagles, The O’Jay’s, The Isley Brothers, The Allman Brothers, and similar artists. Lead singer Kendall Hadden calls it “Rock and Soul!” One fan recently remarked “Some of the best live talent in the southeast. They play what other bands can’t/don’t.”
It’s a band of veteran musicians, with Hadden averaging 100 dates each year; Frank Farr on drums, who toured for seven years with regional super group, Snow and played on the Randy Meisner tune “Love Me Or Leave Me Alone;” Jerry Roberson on keyboard and piano; Sean Kent on bass and guitar, playing in various bands over the past 20 years, including the popular south Georgia staple known as Squakbox; and Jay Stewart on lead quitar, who has performed with Brian Dunn (Hall & Oates), Jason Miles (Miles Davis), Neil Jason (Dire Straits, John Lennon) and had a cut on the Billboard jazz charts.
When these five guys blend their respective backgrounds together the results are an exciting mix of Soul, R & B, Classic Rock and harmony vocals. Where else can you hear “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” (Elvin Bishop), “Who’s That Lady” (Isley Brothers), and “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number” (Steely Dan) from the same band in the same night?!
