Two of the area’s best-loved bands and a few of their special guests share the stage for an evening of rock and roll, rhythm and blues, Americana and soul music – plus plenty of Yuletide cheer and holiday songs (both classic and obscure).
First up is a full set by Bottles & Cans. Led by guitarist and deep-voiced singer Ray Lundy, this shining light on the regional music scene has been entertaining crowds for close to two decades with their swampy brand of old, country blues and toe-tappin’ rave-ups. Their longtime lineup of drummer Josh Safer and harmonica player Marty Ellis will be joined for this performance by bassist Thomas Mitz and the dazzling female vocals of Laiken Love.
The Magic Rocks follow with a full set of their own. An island favorite that is known for their high-energy rock shows, inventive arrangements and impressive three-part vocal harmonies, this electric power trio of guitarist Craig Johansen, bassist Ronny Kersey and drummer Jim Reed is an established favorite at festivals, benefits, nightclubs and all manner of area venues. They will be joined by the lovely and talented female vocalist Amy Ochoa.
Philip Reynolds Price, one of the most versatile and in-demand keyboardists in the Southeast will add piano, organ and synthesizer to both bands’ sets, and will be on-hand for the big finale which will feature all the musicians onstage together, ending the night with a few timeless Christmas tunes.
