Savannah native and three-time Grammy nominee Daniel Cowan, aka Dan Random, has released Somewhere Called Now, his debut science fiction novel – set in Savannah -- with original music soundtrack. The Somewhere Called Now show at Tybee Post Theater will be a unique reading and listening experience, which weaves excerpts from the science fiction novel with original music from the soundtrack performed by the Dan Random Band.
Cowan, born and raised in Savannah, is an author, musician, singer, composer, and producer with nine CDs and three Grammy nominations under his belt. He recorded his first album in Savannah and Savannah radio stations were the first to play his singles.
Now, in the last ten years, he has written and copyrighted close to one hundred musical compositions, in addition to novel Somewhere Called Now. Cowan’s professional moniker, Dan Random, evolved from his ability to compress several styles of music into a common thread that is unmistakably distinctive and entertaining.
