The first annual Tybee Island Songwriters Festival features three days of performances by some of the country's top songwriters performing songs from their collections of No. 1 hits.
The famed songwriters appearing this afternoon are Hall of Fame songwriter Doug Johnson, Grammy nominee John Condrone and award-winning Canadian recording artist Tara Shannon.
Johnson won ACM and CMA awards for Song of the Year for “Three Wooden Crosses.” President of Giant Records, he’s had more than 40 songs recorded and has been associated with Doug Stone, Ty Herndon, Patty Loveless and John Michael Montgomery.
Condrone has written and performed more than 300 songs on radio, television and film. His No. 1 hits include “If You Stole My Heart,” “Bubba Claus,” “If the Heart is Right,” and “Since I Found You.”
Shannnon has partnered with The Syndicut, an artist development company, and has written “Love Me Loud,” “Life Signs,” and “Take This Rock (and Roll.).
